Energy for the future we all want to share.
We’re California’s homegrown oil producers and we see the power of community energy. What we produce is essential, irreplaceable: the resources our state needs to get us to where we all want to be.
Energy that’s everywhere and in all of us.
And with our state facing so many irreversible choices about how we get to a clean energy future, we think it’s time you knew who we are. Independent energy producers operating under the world’s toughest environmental standards. An integral part of reaching California’s climate goals.
We’re 300 independent local businesses, many family owned, that play a major role in producing about 30% of the oil and natural gas needed by our state. The other 70% of what people use is imported; brought here by ship or rail.
Living and working in the community gives us a different focus: one grounded in respect for our neighbors and a determination to do right for the neighborhood.
We operate under the world's toughest environmental standards and are strictly regulated by more than 25 federal, state, and local agencies. We take responsibility for what we do and are honest about how we do it.
Through local and state taxes and fees we provide $1.7 billion in funding for schools, first responders, hospitals, and services. We also contribute to local non-profits, shelters, STEAM education, and parks and playgrounds.
We employ 55,000 hardworking men and women who get up every day and do what it takes to move California forward. We're a unique upward path for our employees and their families, many who come from disadvantaged and underserved communities of color.
We also produce the building block resources for everything from surgical gloves and x-ray machines to wind turbines and electric cars – more than 6,000 of the products we all rely on every day.
